Today the students made alien frames to put their Accelerated Reader pictures inside of for the AR wall, and also set their AR goals. Ask your child what his or her goal is. I told the class if every one of them got 100 points I would take them to the Depot for ice cream!
We also took lots of notes today, both in Social Studies and in Science. Note-taking is a big part of 5th grade.
And, in Science, we are conducting an experiment that involves paper airplanes! More on that to come.
Homework for this evening is:
Language: finish DLI day 1 and 2
Math: study math facts (for our timed tests, most children need to study addition.)
Whole Group Reading: Finish vocabulary words 1-4 on page 18.
Also, the Read and Respond logs were introduced today. THe firdt one is due on Tuesday, because we don't have school on Monday.
